Shopify has introduced improvements to the Checkout and Customer Accounts Editor, making it easier to arrange app blocks to match the customer experience.
What’s New in the Sections Tab?
The Sections tab now allows you to organize app blocks exactly as they appear to customers. Here’s what’s been updated:
- Dynamic app blocks are visibly positioned between sections, both in the editor and preview, for clearer placement.
- Static app block labels and descriptions now align precisely with the preview for better clarity.
- The redundant 'Add block' button has been removed; every parent section now has a single 'Add block' button with suggested placements.
Flexibility with Drag-and-Drop
You can still drag and drop app blocks within the editor, offering full customization to suit your shop’s needs.
Changes to Customer Account Pages
- While the overall structure of customer account pages remains unchanged, app blocks on the Order Status page now appear within the Order Summary section for improved organization.
- This adjustment ensures a streamlined viewing experience for customers accessing their account information.
