Shopify has introduced automated fraud prevention settings for merchants using Shopify Payments. These settings are designed to ensure your fraud detection is up-to-date and aligned with Shopify’s recommendations.
How Automated Fraud Settings Work
When you enable automated fraud prevention, your settings will adjust automatically based on the latest recommendations. This ensures your store stays protected without requiring manual updates.
What Happens When You Turn It On?
Once you activate automation, the following changes will be applied:
- Postal Code Verification: Shopify will turn off the functionality that declines charges failing AVS postal code verification, as this is already integrated into the enhanced fraud detection model. The new model utilizes over 400 fraud signals for more precise detection.
- CVV Verification: Shopify will turn on declining charges that fail CVV verification, adding an extra layer of security to your transactions.
