Shopify has announced an extension to the grace period for Built for Shopify (BFS) apps that fail to meet specific automated criteria. Previously, apps that did not conform to requirements faced immediate action, but they now have a 60-day window to address issues.
What Are the Requirements?

- Apps must be embedded within the Shopify admin.
This change ensures BFS apps retain their badge and visibility during the resolution period, giving developers ample time to improve compliance without losing merchant trust and visibility.
Maintaining Your BFS Badge
During the grace period, apps will retain their BFS badge and remain accessible in the Shopify App Store. However, if issues are not resolved within 60 days, the badge will be removed until compliance is achieved.
