How to Compare Multiple Metrics on One Chart in Shopify Analytics

Shopify Updates:

Visualizing Multiple Metrics Together

Shopify Analytics now makes it simple to plot and analyze multiple metrics on the same chart. This feature allows you to better understand trends and relationships between data points without toggling between charts.

Benefits of Multi-Metric Analysis

By plotting up to four metrics on a single chart, you can:

  • Track performance trends across different metrics simultaneously.
  • Easily identify relationships between metrics, such as sales volume and conversion rates.
  • See metrics with various value types displayed on distinct Y-axis scales for clearer comparisons.

Key Feature Enhancements

1. Multi-Metric Line Charts

You can now add up to four metrics to a line chart using checkboxes in the configuration panel. Metrics like dollar totals and percentages receive their own unique Y-axis scales, ensuring data clarity.

2. Bar and Line Visualization

This new visualization type lets you assign one metric as bars and another as a line. It’s perfect for pairing metrics like Total Sales and Conversion Rate to observe volume and rates side by side.

Where to Use These Features

These enhancements are available in explorations, saved reports, and dashboard cards within Shopify Analytics.
