Introducing Unique Resource Publishing
Shopify now allows merchants to publish distinct products and collections to each of their Headless storefronts. This milestone empowers businesses with multiple storefronts to curate unique offerings for individual audiences. With this update, you can tailor the shopping experience based on storefront-specific goals.
Streamlined Admin Experience
In the Shopify admin, the previous generic “Headless” channel name has been replaced with the specific names of your individual Headless storefronts. These names appear as publishing destinations, simplifying identification and management. This change extends to the Orders page as well, aligning your storefronts seamlessly within the admin tools.
API Updates for Precise Control
Merchants using API integrations should note a key update. Previously, the publicationId linked to the Headless sales channel app was universally used for publishing products. Now, for any API calls—such as the publishablePublish mutation—you must specify the publicationId of the individual Headless storefront you wish to target. This ensures precise control over product publication and storefront-specific customization.
Key Benefits of the Update
- Enhanced flexibility through storefront-specific product and collection publishing.
- Simplified navigation and channel management in Shopify admin.
- More accurate order attribution per storefront.
- Improved API functionality with tailored publicationId requirements.
- Optimized experiences for diverse customer bases across storefronts.
By leveraging these features, merchants can maximize the potential of their Headless storefronts to deliver personalized and localized shopping experiences.
