What is a Partially Deliverable Cart?

A partially deliverable cart occurs when some items in a customer's order cannot be shipped to their location due to shipping profile restrictions. Until now, customers would encounter a message halting their checkout, stating that their order could not be shipped to their address.

What’s Changing?

Now, Shopify makes this process more user-friendly by:

  • Clearly identifying the specific item(s) in the cart that cannot be shipped to the customer’s location.
  • Providing customers the option to remove undeliverable items directly from their cart.
  • Allowing customers to proceed with their order for the items that can be shipped.

This enhancement helps reduce abandoned carts and improves the likelihood of successful transactions, benefiting both merchants and customers.
