What’s Changing with Shopify Customer Accounts?
Starting December 9, 2024, Shopify is updating the terminology for customer accounts across all Shopify-owned platforms. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance clarity and improve the experience for merchants and their customers.
Key Terminology Updates:
- New customer accounts are now referred to as customer accounts.
- Classic customer accounts are now referred to as legacy customer accounts.
Why the Change?
This update aligns with Shopify's commitment to investing in the future of modern customer account functionality. Although no timeline has been announced yet, Shopify plans to retire legacy customer accounts in the future.
