Receive Payouts in Multiple Currencies with Shopify Payments in Canada

Shopify Updates:

Streamline Your Payments with Multiple Currencies

If your business operates out of Canada and you're using Shopify's Advanced or Plus plans, you now have the flexibility to receive payouts in both CAD and USD. This feature helps streamline accounting and reduce currency conversion complexities.

How Does It Work?

By connecting two bank accounts—one for CAD and another for USD—Shopify Payments ensures you receive payouts in the currency of the respective orders. Here’s how it works:

  • Orders placed in CAD will be paid out to the account linked to CAD.
  • Orders placed in USD will be deposited into the account set up for USD.
  • Orders made in other international currencies will automatically be converted to the currency of your default bank account.

Important Details to Know

While this feature offers convenience, there are a few key considerations:

  • Payouts in USD will incur an international currency payout fee.
  • You can manage your bank account connections easily from your Shopify Payments settings.
  • Currency conversion rates may apply for non-CAD and non-USD payouts.
