New Improvements to the Inventory CSV File
We’ve made key updates to the inventory CSV file format to help Shopify merchants better manage their stock and prevent data errors.
Key Changes to the Inventory CSV Columns
- We’ve added an On hand (new) column, allowing you to input only new stock updates.
- The previous On hand column has been renamed to On hand (current).
This change ensures that your current stock quantities remain accurate and protected. By leaving the On hand (new) column blank, your existing inventory levels will not be modified.
Important Reminder for Automated Tools
If you use automated tools, scripts, or external systems that interact with your inventory CSV file, you must update these tools to incorporate the new column format. Failure to do so could disrupt your import workflows or cause errors.
