Introducing eftpos Payments for Australian Merchants
Shopify is excited to announce that Australian merchants can now accept eftpos payments in their retail stores using Shopify Payments. This enhancement empowers businesses to offer a seamless checkout experience to their customers, accommodating their preferred payment methods.
What Payment Types Are Supported?
With this update, Shopify Payments now accepts:
- eftpos cards, including debit cards and eftpos co-branded Visa or Mastercard.
- Other credit and debit cards, such as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
- Mobile wallet payments, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Customer Convenience and Account Selection
One of the major benefits of this update is the ability for customers using eftpos cards to choose their account type for transactions, enhancing flexibility and improving the shopping experience.
Upcoming Changes to In-Person Payment Rates
Starting April 4, 2023, payment rates for in-person transactions will be updated. Merchants are encouraged to review pricing details by visiting the Shopify POS pricing page after this date.
