With payment requests per fulfillment, you can manage cash flow for orders with mixed lead times, collect payment on pre-orders as they arrive, and ship in-stock items without waiting for backordered products. Your buyers can pay through Customer Accounts, where unpaid requests appear directly, or via the payment link in email.
This is particularly valuable if you're managing pre-orders, custom products, or seasonal inventory where items ship at different times. Instead of manually tracking partial payments outside of Shopify, you can request payment for each shipment as it goes out, all tracked directly in your admin.
