Introducing the Customer Segment Lookup Action

Shopify Flow now makes it easier to personalize workflows with the Look up customer in segment action. This new capability allows you to check whether a customer belongs to a specific segment, opening up new possibilities for tailored automation.

How It Works

The action integrates seamlessly into any workflow that identifies a customer. By specifying a segment to check, the action returns a boolean field called isMember. When the customer belongs to the segment, isMember will return as true.

Use Cases for the Segment Lookup Action

  • Verify if a customer qualifies for expedited shipping by checking their membership in an “expedited shipping” segment, then tag their order for special handling.
  • Personalize marketing campaigns by identifying customers in a VIP segment and sending targeted promotional emails.
  • Streamline customer service by routing inquiries from priority customers to a dedicated support team based on their segment.
