Enhance Transparency with Split Shipping in Checkout

As of August 30, 2024, Shopify has introduced split shipping in checkout for all merchants. This new feature offers a flexible and transparent shipping experience for both merchants and buyers.

What Is Split Shipping?

Split shipping allows orders with multiple shipping profiles or locations to be divided into separate packages during checkout. This means that buyers can receive their items from different locations in a more efficient manner.

Benefits of Split Shipping

  • Buyers can see expected delivery times for each package in their order.
  • The option to expedite one or more packages increases convenience for buyers.
  • Merchants can manage shipping more effectively across multiple locations or profiles.

How to Enable Split Shipping

To access and enable split shipping, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery in your Shopify admin. This feature is immediately available for merchants with multiple shipping profiles or locations.

Transparency for Buyers

With split shipping, buyers are informed during checkout when their order includes multiple packages. They can even choose to accelerate specific packages if expedited shipping options are available, giving them more control and clarity in their purchasing experience.
