New Pricing Support for Draft Order Checkouts in Shopify Markets

Shopify Updates:

Understanding Draft Order Pricing Changes

Starting October 31, 2025, Shopify introduces new pricing behavior for Draft Orders during checkout. When customers update their shipping address, product prices may automatically adjust based on the shop's Markets configuration.

Why Are Prices Changing?

This update ensures that the correct pricing is displayed for customers in different regions, respecting localized pricing rules, taxes, and currency conversion set in Shopify Markets.

How to Maintain Fixed Prices in Draft Orders

If you want to prevent prices from changing during Draft Order checkouts, Shopify offers two solutions:

  • Use the priceOverride field in the Draft Order line item inputs when creating or updating the order.
  • Alternatively, apply the generatePriceOverride field for consistent pricing during line item updates.

These options give merchants greater control, ensuring pricing aligns with their business strategy.

Next Steps for Merchants

  • Review your Shopify Markets configuration to understand how pricing rules may affect customers in various regions.
  • Update your Shopify Draft Order automation to implement priceOverride or generatePriceOverride as necessary.
  • Educate your team about these updates to avoid confusion during checkout workflows.

This new feature enhances the flexibility and precision of Shopify Markets, empowering merchants to create a better shopping experience for customers around the globe.
